 Haunted Mansion, The (2003)
IMDB rating: 4.90
Plot: On the day of their anniversary, workaholic and real estate agent Jim Evers and his wife Sara receive a strange phone call from a man called Ramsley. He requests that Sara come to the mysterious Gracey Manor. Jim decides to turn it into an opportunity to check out a possible gold-mine in real estate, but to please Sara, he claims it is a “family trip”, bringing the kids along. Once there, Ramsley the butler insists that they stay, for a big storm is on the way. The Evers are introduced to Master Gracey, who seems strangely obsessed with Sara. Jim goes off to talk to Gracey about selling, but ends up in a secret passage instead. The kids follow a floating ball to the attic, where they see a painting of a woman who looks just like Sara! Jim and the kids eventually discover the mansion’s dark secret from Madame Leota, a talking head in a crystal ball. She tells them that Sara is in danger and to save her, they must “lead the ghosts to the light.” After some spooky adventures and surprises, the family manages to save the manor and Sara, all while learning a valuable lesson about togetherness.

taking my 5mo old daughter to disneyland..?
what rides can and cant she go on????, besides the obvious ones lol.
can she go on pirates of the caribbean? or the haunted mansion?’
Thanks!
ps; she is only 5 months old!
well im NOT waiting, i asked what rides can and cant she go on, not if i should take her. so lets readvise your answers thanks
I am assuming you mean Disneyland in California. If so I’m a pro there with little ones. Have been there a few times. First, they do have stroller rentals or you can bring your own if you get tired of carrying baby in a snugli. If you bring your own, I also stash a couple of plastic grocery bags under a blanket on the bottom. One with snacks for the kids to save money on food while we’re there and another with bottled waters that I’ve half frozen the night before and then added cold water to and one all the way frozen. That way we can sip on ice cold water during the day and save on sodas. The ice will melt throughout the day but the water will stay cold.
Once in the park…..if you don’t know this already, on Main Street just to the right of the white restaurante on the right hand side and right next to the First Aid station, there is a building for families with babies and potty training children. I think 4 is the cut off age. Anyhow, though there are changing tables in the restrooms around the park, this building has padded changing tables, high chairs and microwaves to heat baby food and make bottles, and an area with gliders for nursing moms. Also little toilets for the potty training crowd.
Almost all the rides in the Fantasyland (kiddy rides) you can take the baby on. But you’ll have to take him out of the snugli and hold him in your lap. There are other rides throughout the park as well that you can take him on…….Winnie the Pooh, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Small World, Nemo, Buzz Lightyear, at least one ride in Toon Town or whatever that section is called and a couple others I might be forgetting.
Also on the rides with height limits, they have something called a Baby Swap. What you do is go to the Disneyland staff at the entrance of the ride with the baby. They will give you a card for that ride called for baby swap. This allows you and up to 2 others I believe (can’t remember just now) to wait with the baby at the exit (or even to take a little walk and come back if the line is long) while the rest of your family waits in line normally and rides the ride. Then with most of those rides when they are done, you swap the baby with your husband and can take one or maybe both of your older kids (you’ll have to ask as I can’t remember…maybe even take turns for each ride) with you through the exit and up to the ride. You have your swap card with you. Whoever waited with the baby does not have to stand in the big line, you just hand the car to a worker and wait til the next spot available to ride. I hate standing in lines so with us I always am the one waiting with baby and take the "easy" way on these rides.
Also for all the rides there is stroller parking as I’m sure you know if you’ve been there before. So for the rides you can take the baby on just park the stroller with all the others and take your ride.
I hope this was able to help you. Whatever you decide, have a great trip! Happy early birthday to your daughter (even from a total stranger) too. If possible, look at their website and see about the whole princess experience for a special treat. I’ve had 2 friends do this with their daughters for birthdays. They had bought costumes for them and then the staff does their hair and some make-up all prettied up like a princess of course. And then they get their portraits done. The pictures are awesome and their daughters were on cloud 9 for days after their royal treatments. I bet your daughter would love it too. I don’t know the details of it so you’ll have to check the Disneyland website for that

Frank | Feb 04, 2010
at five months old she shouldn’t be going on any rides..
Chaz's Lady | Feb 04, 2010
id honestly wait till shes about 7-9years old then she will have memorys of some
kids dont have much memory until they hit about 2 years old
Corey | Feb 04, 2010
I would seriously wait until she’s 5 or 6 years old. She isn’t going to remember a thing. It would be best for her to have those memories of her going and not just pictures.
Answer Master | Feb 04, 2010
i would wait till shes older!!!!
RoCkY | Feb 04, 2010
worst decision of your life.
Batastic <3 | Feb 04, 2010
Its too early for her to go wait till she is 3-5 yrs old. I doubt any but i’ve never been there.
llemis d | Feb 04, 2010
she cant go on anything really. what is the point? does she have older siblings?
Go chill out at a pool!
lisa mommy | Feb 04, 2010
If you go to the park site it should tell you height requirements…some say "48" or have responsible supervision" Meaning, you can hold her.
They probably have a page specifically for infants and what they can go on and what they can’t
blahblahteehee | Feb 04, 2010
No. If you want to take your daughter to Disney. I suggest you wait a few more years because she’s only 5 months old. She’ll probably be a handful because she’s so young and she won’r be able to go one may of the rides.

she can go on pirates of the caribean, if it doesn’t scare her and she can go on the whinny the poo ride and the peter pan ride and it’s a small world ride etc.
Joe B | Feb 04, 2010
Are you serious she’s only 5 months, i don’t think she should go on any rides, i mean anything could happen to her! Common sense!
<3 i heart rainbows <3 | Feb 04, 2010
She really shouldn’t go on any rides. Even the calm ones like the haunted mansion will scare her. All it takes is one scream from another person and she’ll start wailing. Babies respond to signals from other people. I doubt the ride operators will even let you take her on anyway.
Object Permanence | Feb 04, 2010
haunted mansion shouuld be allowed and i have not done pirates of carribean so yea….
coco | Feb 04, 2010
Pirates and Haunted Mansion should be fine.
They are slow moving rides. I’ve seen new-borns on both of them-and she is probably too little to be scared of the themes.
Pretty much anything in Fantasyland EXCEPT Casy Jr.’s Circus train. It looks pretty innocent but that ride is fast and whips you around.
dog on sofa | Feb 04, 2010
I’d start by doing some rides in Fantisy Land. Don’t taker her to extreme rides, like Space Mountain or Splash Mountain. TOO EXTREME for someone that young. Maybe when shes older. Pirates of the Carabien should be fine. You could take her on Haunted Mansion but please cover her eyes. It gets pretty spooky in there!
david_94024 | Feb 04, 2010
I brought my son on the mansion ride but he was 18 months old. I dont know about the Pirates of the caribbean sorry

Nat Lee | Feb 04, 2010
Awww!
You should save the money and wait till she?s 13 or so, so she can remember it.
my parents took my when I was 11, and I remember almost all of it, Im very fond of my Disney memories,
unless you plan to take her again someday in the future, then I guess you could take her now.
As for the rides, there?s a bunch of show?s and great "rides" in the animal kingdom.
Im not sure it?s a great place for a baby though, you?ll miss out on a lot of things and you?ll regret it later on.
Best of Luck, and Hope your baby stays healthy,
Lala

don’t take her already! she’s 5 months. she wont remember it. my sisrter is almost 2 and we’re waiting till she’s 3 or 4 so she’ll rememeber.\
MoMo-Fo-ShoSho | Feb 04, 2010
the cognitive ability of a 5 months old…. is this trip for her or is it really for you?
flawfulrobot | Feb 04, 2010
why? She’s too young to get any enjoyment, and that’s a lot of money to spend for something she’ll never remember.
Roland'sMommy | Feb 04, 2010
well not the haunted masion that would be scary and the pirates one i wouldnt because i went there at six and the boats scared me the first time but after it was over i wanted to go back but i wouldnt suggest either

I just got back from Disney Land with my baby. She loved "it’s a small world" I heard that everything in Fantasy land is baby friendly. We are going back in a month and I can’t wait to go on all these rides with her!! I only went on the previous ride last time because I seen a baby on the ride…I did research after and found out there is more rides
Wow these people really need to get some common sense here. Disney Land WAS made for kids, Fantasy land is especially for babies and toddlers.
Go and have a blast…..my daughter LOVED it!!!! Every time I sing the "It’s a small world" song, she squeals with delight!
You are not wasting your money!!!!
Shannon | Feb 04, 2010
idk… but why take her so young? Wait a while it will be more worth it for both of you. Right now she is excited by easy stuff and easily amused. Wait til she can remember and have lots of fun on lots of rides. When I went there most rides seemed better for 3-7 or 8 years. Its not that great for older, and not that great for too young. plus a stroller there… such a pain. It is super crowded… unless its not summer- but still ppl or you go on a monday right when they open then leave by the afternoon. Still… 5 months… what for?
sorry if that sound mean… i don’t want it to sound that way. I just wonder why so young.
jessica in humboldt | Feb 04, 2010
She shouldnt be on any rides at 5 months!! What are you thinking!!
Im not even taking my kids to Disney till they’re old enough to enjoy it fully- and have a great memory of it. So in a few years, we’ll do a big trip down south to Disney and do the whole thing, resort and park, but I want my kids to be able to enjoy every step of the way and remember it.
And Im waiting till BOTH my kids are old enough…
~Ariana~ | Feb 04, 2010
I wouldn’t think a 5 month old should go on any ride.
